Long description

The Dionysos Coffee Table is based on a simple and radical opposition. Above: a thick, raw, light wood recycled pine top, with its dark knots, slight natural cracks, and color variations between the planks. Below: a completely blackened rectangular central base, dense, deep, almost mineral in its matte appearance.

These two elements do not seek to resemble each other — this is precisely what gives the Dionysos its strength. The natural light wood of the top brings the warmth and authenticity of living material. The blackened base brings the rigor and depth of black. Together, they create this wabi-sabi tension between the raw and the refined, between the natural and the transformed, which defines the most memorable pieces of furniture.

The top, with its generous thickness and sharp edges, is crafted from recycled pine. Its planks bear the marks of their history — pronounced dark knots, slight surface irregularities, color variations from one plank to another. No excessive sanding, no varnish that erases the marks. The wood is shown as it is, in its most honest version.

At 180 cm long, 48 cm deep, and 40 cm high, the Dionysos is a long and low coffee table that naturally runs along a large sofa. Its 48 cm depth is sufficient to display two rows of objects or a decorative composition without clutter.
